What clicks more than an IDEA?

One thing that is more powerful than an IDEA is curiosity which is nothing but part of process to get the idea.

How do I come to this conclusion? Hmmm.. Lets understand the process..

However, when its driven by Curiosity this time the process is..

Lets Back this with an example of one of the simplest and greatest discoveries of technology:

Here, Pranav's discovery is backed with Curiosity than a need. He was curious to know how mouse works. This curiosity made him open the mouse, understand its functioning, prototype what works and what does not work with the  mouse and ultimately come with an IDEA with added features giving us the "Sixth Sense" device.

My theory is completely an observational theory understanding the process of generation of Ideas. You may support me or differ from my thoughts. Either ways do comment your thoughts.

Freshers not just way to save money but to earn IDEAS !!

Every company wants to have Experienced people working for them. Freshers are neglected or seen as way to reduce Cost to the company. This perspective needs to change among the companies.

Reasons? They earn you IDEAS !!!

Freshers are open to new ways to work, they are more enthusiastic and flexible to learn, they think from an angle no experienced person can think since experienced people are more restricted to set of methods they have to use to get out put. Who says giving work to a fresher will not get better outputs? If you have that opinion I would request you to see the below video:
In the Video Tom Wujec from Autodesk presents some surprisingly deep research into the "marshmallow problem" -- a simple team-building exercise that involves dry spaghetti, one yard of tape and a marshmallow. Who can build the tallest tower with these ingredients? And why does a surprising group always beat the average?

The surprising groups are inexperienced, unbiased teams who are not afraid of doing mistakes and working on prototyping. They work with passion and give their best in same amount of time given to the experienced professionals.

Give them chance to see how they work and trust me they will give you some wonderful innovative ideas to work with.

Build Pillars that Self Stand

A critical question every CEO should ask is "What are the PILLARS my company is standing on and can this pillar STAND by THEMSELVES or need a BASE?" If they need a base, then BASE is more important to focus on than the pillars themselves.

When a company gets established they form many pillars, hence the base disappears automatically. However, if a new company starts with forming pillars that can stand by themselves, it gets established faster than its counter partners.

The example for the same is Walmart, Big Bazaar, Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, McDonalds etc. These all companies have worked on their pillars and organized them in such a way that they are self standing and does not require a base. This is what Innovation is all about. Working on the process in such a way that the process is first organized, than standardized and finally can be replicated (internally) very easily.

Brand is ultimately build and established with the Strong Pillar representing the differentiation factor of Company. Since this pillar is self standing, it would not be easily targeted by competition.

For Walmart it was Supply Chain, For Big Bazaar it was the Marketing Strategy, For Google it was the Algorithm to the Search Engine tool, For Facebook it was the Network, For Apple it was Design, For Amazon it was Internet Supply Chain, For McDonalds it was Menu etc.

Every New company if builds Self Standing Pillars than their process will accelerate generating Brand image, Operational Excellence and Difficult to penetrate market for competitors specially if it is on a first mover advantage.

These are solely my views, What do you think?

Big Dreams, Small Feet- Indian Entrepreneurs

Passion in their Heart.. Vision in their Eyes.. Dream in their mind.. Inspiration in their Voice.. 1 Penny in their Pocket..

Big Dream and Small Feet.. These are Indian Entrepreneurs !!!

They know its unachievable NOW but it is not Impossible to make their dreams come true. They do not dream of luxury, neither aspire for car, bike or house. They aspire Power. They aspire Position.

They define their own rules in process. They are not ashamed to do a small job and learn. They add value to their knowledge and keep constructing their dream business step by step. They fall 100 times but learn every time and make their small feet stronger to get up and start working again.

They get Insulted and make their will more stronger. They value Time and respect money. They believe in sharing and working for a purpose. They share feeling of their employee and keep them close to their heart. They believe in giving to get back. They learn to identify the right opportunity at right time. They are present at the right Place where they visualize the whole dream coming true.

They not only work on their dream, They live their dream every day and every night.

Thats how Dhirubhai Ambani lived his dream. His father was a school teacher in a village however Dhirubhai Dreamed Big. He saw the world as his play ground, he fell many times but every time rising as a winner.

Thats what Laxmi Mittal  did. He saw the opportunity and put all he had to turn the table around and bring success out of adversity. His family was his prime strength in the testing time.

That why Narayan Murty build an Empire. He focused on values and integrity. This along with his self belief and family support made him leave an MNC and work for himself.

Thats how Kishor Biyani made his mark. He experimented his ideas and never thought twice before making mistakes. He took risks but Big risks and calculated one. He got inspired by Walmart and did not think twice before looking at India as a big consumer market and an opportunity unexplored.

Every Indian Entrepreneur's heart beat with Passion. Passion of their ideas and dreams.

They know they have Small Feet, but they also know Their Dreams are Big !!!

Need or want , whats more important?

Everyone today is fighting this question. Is it a need which is more important or is it a want that should be focused on. In India there is a huge gap between these two words and many Indians prioritize their work on Need. Their need is not only focused on basic food, clothing and shelter however it revolves around the need of their family. The wants are hugely lagging behind as aspirations.

Hence, Indians aspire and dream. They plan to reach that dream and form steps to reach. They clearly know the difference in NEED and WANT. Also they attach value to Need and Want both and hence would not pounce on opportunity without a structured analysis on the same in matter of seconds.

How and why this importance has shaped in their minds? Its thought to them in childhood and is registered in their unconscious mind. Let me put some examples here:

Indians living in the desert areas are frequently suffering  for the need of water hence they use water strategically. One of the traditional ways of doing this even before bottled water came in picture was carrying a LOTA (horizontal vessel which is small as a 200ml bottle and has wide fat bottom) whenever serving or drinking water. The amount needed is self served glass in or is poured back to LOTA in case of excess. They teach them to save from childhood. When you know that you need something and it is saved , you register it in your unconscious mind "THAT PLAN TO SAVE WHAT IS NEEDED ALOT"

One of the other brilliant examples comes from Arabic countries. Where again water is the need. They use specific technique to wash their hands which ultimately utilizes very less water. Hence, Arabs have learned unconsciously and stored in their minds that "PLAN TO UTILIZE STRATEGICALLY WHAT YOU NEED THE MOST"

These two example clearly states that Need is power of invention and hence EAST is an Entrepreneur world as it is powered by Need than just Want.

What do you think? Have you seen such inventions around you powered by need, do comment if yes

How easy it is to make you smile?

When I was 6years old, my mother would tell me a story. Story about a princess who would never smile. She was sad and unhappy. But no one knew why? One day King announced whoever can make her smile will get the most precious award. Everyone tried but no one could make her smile. Than came a boy who grew in mud and still smiled at every event that would come his way. He knew that life was small and it needs to be lived the fullest. He took her to the pond and asked her to find pink pebbles. Princess saw all around and gave up once. On her giving up boy said "What are you looking for?" She replied "How can you find a pink pebble here? It is Impossible !!" He asked again "Princess what are you looking for is here and I have seen them myself". Listening to this Princess tried looking again and this time she found not one, not two, not three but five PINK pebbles.. HERE SHE LEARNED POWER OF POSITIVITY but did not smile

Then,  boy asked princess to throw the pebble one by one in the pond but she should target as far as possible. When she tried first pebble, it did not go very far. Boy claimed "Come on Princess, you can do better than that" She tried again and it went little far than earlier one.. Boy said "Princess think that this pond is a barrier you have been fighting all your life. The dream you want to live all your life and now as far as you throw the PINK pebble you will break that barrier and make your dream real.Come on compete with your own self and WIN"   THIS GAVE HER FAITH and she threw as hard as possible and it went, went veryyyyyyy far.. THIS GAVE HER LIFE, HER DREAM. SHE NEW IT CAN BE REAL. but did not smile.

Two pebbles where still left. Two kids came by the pond and started looking for pink pebbles. Princess knew how hard it was to find pink ones and she also knew that the first three she had fond had given her something that made her feel good within. She went to two kids and gave them each pebble she had and SMILED.

She learned HARD WORK SATISFIES you, COMPETING brings COURAGE and GIVING what you have achieved from your own hard work which made you win in competition brings SMILE..

So what is it that made you smile today? Do comment your feelings.

How difficult it is to give?

When dreams catch the heart, the mind flows in the direction where the heart tells to go. Life touches only once and when it does the heart stops and listens to what it has to say. Why can’t someone dream? What makes them stop and think they can’t? Why are there so many responsibilities on everyone’s shoulder? Why is a dream so big to come true? We all are one; we all have 2 eyes, 2 ears and 1 nose. We all can walk, talk and bring across our point. What is it that is different? Why can’t we all live one kind of life?
Answers are rare however there is no end to the questions. There is a need, not to answer these questions however to take actions; actions that are not just made, but are also felt. Felt by the doer in his heart with a satisfaction. Felt by receiver in his soul with a trust. Felt by the audience in their mind with inspiration.
It is not just any dream which I see any day it is a dream I see my whole life. There are steps been taken by some who are great in their vision, in their mission and in their action. With each paragraph bellow each of these actors will be revealed.
Taj hotels in one of its corporate social responsibility program for fishermen gives them training of analyzing the quality of fish Taj require in their hotels and then purchase these fishes from these fishermen. This is a business strategy used by Taj to get quality with price benefit, they use their local wisdom for mutual benefit of fishermen as well as Taj hotels.
Taj was a supplier based mutual business strategy, the customer based mutual business strategy is used by Hindustan Unilever Limited in which they help the rural women for self employment and hence making their consumer earn better to increase their disposable income to spend in HUL products.
Above were the big companies however India is full of Entrepreneurs who believe that they can help society in a big way. One such Entrepreneur is Mr. Venkat Subramanium and his wife Mrs. Srivalli Krishnan who spend their weekends traversing Chennai’s neighborhoods, selling vegetables in their van. This is an eFarm solution which works as transparent, economical and far-to-home model. In an article on Entrepreneur, Sep. 09 Mr. Subramanian says, “Farmers need money for their hard work, not subsidies”. He also exclaims, “The real problem lies on the sales and marketing side. Farmers are constantly cheated within mandi system.” He wanted to change this system hence quitting his job at Wipro, US and start an enterprise which has eighty percent of eFarm’s customers as wholesaler like restaurants and hospitals, who pay farmers a special rate and help estimate weekly demand.
Microfinance is also a revolution which has helped many poor people to open their own small business. Banks give loan to open a small enterprise which is called microfinance. According to Mr. Vikram Akula, Chairperson and Founder, SKS Microfinance says, “Microfinance is about trust and not collateral, it is about working through groups, and most importantly, it is about lending to women and not men”.
“For She” is a step taken by Mrs. Revathi Roy for upliftment of urban poor women with her taxi service company in Mumbai. The women are given employment, training in driving skills, soft and language skills, martial arts and city road familiarization.
Many have come a long way, some are on their way, few have dreams to walk on the way. It is not important who is doing it. What is important is that weather you are there in the deed which is going to change the life of someone forever. Don’t step down. Step up and make a difference.
